Fablefern Christmas Gift Guide: What Would Emily Gift Edition

It's that time of the year where we're all shopping for the perfect gift for our loved ones. To make this just a bit easier, we're putting together some gift guides to help you along the way.

To follow our gift guide "What would Liz Gift" we've come back with another edition featuring what Emily would gift! Keep reading to see just what Emily would give to her friends and family this holiday season!

Just like Liz, I grew up in a house full of books and find that they're one of the most fun gifts for people to unwrap on Christmas morning - especially knowing there are a few days after food, family, and presents for folks to sit down, relax, and dive into a good book.

For my grandmother, I'd gift something sappy because she loves a sappy romance. I think I'd go with The Wish by Nicholas Sparks for her this holiday season since I know she loves anything he writes. It's always great when I'm able to find a Sparks book that she doesn't own yet!

For my mother-in-law, there's not better choice than The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Not only does she get really into a good thriller, this is one that I enjoyed so we can spend time talking about it and all the twists that happened!

For my friend Fallon, that I grew up with, I'd gift Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune. My friend reminds me of the main characters' childhood best friend who is a fierce mother and friend, just like she's been for me and her two beautiful children.

For my friend Rachel, whose cats are named for iconic female musicians, I'd gift Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. She'd love this story inspired by the lore of classic band, Fleetwood Mac, plus, maybe she'll end up with some inspiration and another cat named Daisy.

For my own mom, I'd gift The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. If this book isn't an "if you know, you know" kind of book then I don't know what is. But since my mom loves historical, plot-driven books, not only would she spend Boxing day sobbing, she'd be so enthralled by the prose.

And lastly, for the girl who definitely already has too many books on the to be read pile, I'd gift my daughter, Hayden, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I read this one recently and it is the most heartbreakingly beautiful books I've read in a very long time. It has so many amazing themes of resilience and doing the right thing. iI's perfect for Hayden or any teenager that's learning to navigate the world!
