We’re so happy you’re here!

Fablefern Bookshop is the culmination of 20 years of friendship and a deep and passionate love of books. We've been passing books back and forth for two decades and in between crying over boys, sleepovers, and school assignments, our noses were always in a good read.

It is the absolute joy of our lives to bring you amazing used books, blind dates, and more! We can’t wait to introduce you to your next favourite read.

Our Values

Diversity: At Fablefern, we believe that reading is for everyone. We hope that everyone who is exposed to Fablefern feels that it is a safe space. We hope you are able to see yourself in the books and products we carry. We’ll never tolerate hate towards marginalized groups and hope that in doing so we create a space where people feel welcome and accepted.

Sustainability: We chose to centre our business around used books as a small way of helping out our planet. Wee want to give new life to books that have already been loved and are no longer a part of someone’s collection. Even if we can help to keep a few books out of landfills through putting them in the hands of readers or repurposing them into art, we believe that is a small way that we can do better in our world.

Accessibility: As with everything, books have become an expensive hobby for readers. Fablefern exists to help fill the gap between the library and big box stores. Books are priced fairly and are in great condition to ensure that they are accessible to readers of all ages.

Imagination: And perhaps at the deepest core of Fablefern, we exist to inspire your imagination. The ability to read and learn the stories and experiences of others is what allows us to become more compassionate and empathetic people. We hope that your experience with Fablefern and every book that you read is that you’re left with the knowledge to understand those around you and to help your community become a better place.
